I was impressed with how quickly he got to know the team and problems. He took initiative to get to know all the Product Designers and set up a repeatable survey to benchmark our Design System. He used innovative methods to drive consensus among the design team and get buy-in for changes. He also became close with the engineers quickly, in part due to his technical knowledge and in part due to his excellent sense of humor. Karina is amazing, and I can't thank her enough for these kind words. Even though she didn't ask for this and certainly doesn't need it, I believe in two way streets. Karina was an amazing leader and brought out the best in the team. She was incredibly supportive, pushed me to be better, and provided opportunities to grow. The team had a strong culture that was very much a reflection of her vision and leadership. On top of all that, she did this while gracefully balancing the never ending duties of becoming a new mom. I wish her and the team nothing but the best and hope we'll get the chance to work together again someday.
